## Description

CodingBunny Database Cleaner is a WordPress plugin that helps you analyze, filter,
and safely remove unnecessary data from your database. It can identify orphaned
options, leftover post meta, unused comments, transients, and other types of residual
data, giving you a clear overview of what is stored in your database and allowing
you to clean it when needed.

The plugin attempts to detect the likely origin of database entries — such as plugin,
theme, or WordPress core — so you can review data with additional context before
performing any deletion.

### Why use CodingBunny Database Cleaner?

 * View database contents with detected origin information
 * Remove unnecessary data with safety checks in place
 * Improve database performance and reduce overhead
 * Schedule automated cleanup tasks

## FAQ

### Is this plugin safe?

All cleanup actions require administrator permissions and are protected by nonces
and confirmation prompts. It is still recommended to back up your database before
performing any cleanup.

### Can deleted data be recovered?

No. Deleted data cannot be automatically restored. Always create a backup before
cleanup operations.

### Does it support Multisite?

Yes. You can clean individual subsites or the entire network.

### How does detection work?

The plugin matches database entries against known patterns to identify their likely
origin (plugin, theme, or core). Users can submit corrections to improve accuracy.

### Is it suitable for large databases?

Yes. Results are paginated and optimized for performance. For very large databases,
incremental cleanup is recommended.

### What are the system requirements?

PHP 8.2 or later.

### 󠀁[Simple and Useful Database Cleanup Plugin](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/simple-and-useful-database-cleanup-plugin/)󠁿

 [Sarankumar](https://profiles.wordpress.org/sarankumar/) 15. Juni 2026.

This plugin does exactly what it promises and helps keep the WordPress database
clean without unnecessary complexity. The interface is straightforward, and the
cleanup process is easy to understand even for non-technical users. One suggestion
for improvement: instead of adding a separate DB Cleaner item in the main WordPress
admin menu, it would feel more natural and consistent with WordPress conventions
to place it under Tools DB Cleaner. Overall, a useful plugin for routine database
maintenance.
