Upload the plugin ZIP via _Plugins Add New Upload Plugin_. 2. Activate **Kreativ Broken Image Finder**. 3. Go to **Kreativ Broken Image Finder** in the WordPress admin menu. 4. Click **Run Full Scan** and wait for the results. ## FAQ ### Does this plugin automatically fix broken images? No. The plugin only detects and reports broken images. You can then edit the affected posts and fix or replace the image URLs. ### How does the plugin detect broken images? It scans `` tags in post content and checks their `src` URLs using HTTP `HEAD` requests. It also checks featured image URLs. ### Does it use any external services or APIs? No. All checks are performed locally using WordPress core HTTP functions. ### Will it slow down my site? The scan runs only when manually triggered from the admin dashboard and does not affect front-end visitors. Septembar 2026. 1 reply I had high hopes for this plugin, however it does not scan postmeta fields (other than _thumbnail_id or the featured image) which means that any images in any postmeta or custom fields are not found. This makes it mostly unfit for purpose as the legacy_content postmeta field is the most likely location for broken images imported from a previous version of the website. It also does not check the core post field post_excerpt or other extremely common custom postmeta fields such as ACF or short_description etc. To be a useful solution or most wordpress sites it would need to check ALL post data AND postmeta data, not just the post_content field and the featured image data.
