Content Calendar

The Content Calendar gives you a powerful overview of your publishing schedule. Using this editorial Calendar, you can easily see when content is planned, and when it was published. You can also drag-and-drop content to a new publication date. By default, you see all the WordPress content you have planned for the next few weeks. If you need to drill down, you can filter the calendar by post status, categories, users or post types.

Content Overview

The Content Overview screen is a companion to the Calendar screen. Whereas the Calendar allows you to see content organized by dates, Content Overview allows you to drill down and see content organized by status, categories, or users. In the top-right corner is a “Print” button. Click this to get a printable overview of all your planned content.

Content Notifications

Notifications keep you and your team up to date on changes to important content. Users can be subscribed to notifications for any post, either individually or by selecting user groups. Editorial Comments

A very important feature in PublishPress Planner is commenting. You can leave comments under each post you write. This is a private conversation between writers and editors and allows you to discuss what needs to be changed before publication.

Content Notification Reminders

This PublishPress Planner Pro feature allows you to send notifications either before or after the publishing date for content. FAQ

Can I create content on the Editorial Calendar?

You can create new content directly from the calendar. Simply click on any date in the calendar, and you’ll see a pop-up. You can extend the Editorial Metadata feature so you can add metadata when creating posts on the calendar.

Does PublishPress Planner Work with iCal and Google Calendar?

You can share updates from your PublishPress Planner Calendar. These updates can be pushed to Google Calendar or any calendar that supports iCal. You will see a link in the top-right corner of your calendar that says “Click here to Subscribe in iCal or Google Calendar”. This link will export the details of the content from your PublishPress Planner calendar. You can choose how far into the past (Start date) and how far into the future (End date) your calendar goes. You can either download the .ics file or you can copy the URL for your calendar.

What are the default notifications available?

PublishPress Planner provides two default notifications:

  • Notify when content is published: this sends an email to Site Administrators whenever content is moved to the “Published” status.
  • Notify on editorial comments: this sends an email to Site Administrators whenever an editorial comment is added.

PublishPress Planner is based on the Edit Flow plugin. It is easy for Edit Flow users to import your data and settings.

How Does PublishPress Planner Compare to Multicollab?

PublishPress Planner does have an Editorial Comments feature as does the Multicollab plugin. PublishPress Planner is different from Multicollab in two ways. First, PublishPress Planner works with more than just the Gutenberg editor. Second. PublishPress Planner has other key features beyond just the Editorial Comments feature.

PublishPress: I use a combination of PublishPress (for workflow notifications), PublishPress Revisions, and PublishPress Capabilities on my site. The dev team has been responsive to suggestions/requests, and the plugins work quite smoothly together. Two suggestions would be (1) to provide more in-depth documentation and (2) to work to integrate the various PublishPress projects even more tightly than they currently are.
